My Story
There's a moment every athlete knows. The moment you realise the biggest obstacle between you and your comeback isn't your body. It's your mind.
I know that moment better than most.
My name is Nathaniel. I grew up playing basketball at the highest level I could reach, representing England as a teenager and going on to train in America, where I learned what it truly meant to compete, to push limits, and to build an identity around being an athlete.
Then at 24, everything changed.
I was attacked. What followed was a fight for my life, five operations, severe and permanent vision loss in one eye, and a recovery process that stripped away almost everything I had built my confidence on. The sport, the physicality, the sense of who I was. All of it felt gone.
Nobody gave me a programme for that. Nobody handed me a roadmap for rebuilding belief when your body has been through something it was never supposed to survive. I had to figure it out myself, through the frustration, the fear, the days where getting to the gym felt like the hardest thing in the world, and the slow, unglamorous process of building back not just my fitness but my identity.
Eventually I got there. Back in the gym. Back in shape. Back to living and thinking like an athlete. Not because I ignored what happened, but because I learned how to work through it with a structure and a mindset that actually holds up under real pressure.
That experience is the foundation of everything I do as a coach.
I didn't get into this work because I read the right books or completed the right qualifications. I got into it because I lived through the kind of setback that breaks most people, and I found a way out. Now I help athletes find that same way out, whether they're recovering from injury, rebuilding after a confidence crisis, or trying to get back to the level they know they're capable of.
My coaching is practical, honest and built around your specific situation. I don't deal in generic motivation or empty reassurance. I give you the structure, the tools and the direct support to understand what's holding you back and systematically dismantle it.
If you're an athlete who's been through something that's knocked you sideways — and you're ready to do the real work of coming back, I'd genuinely love to help.
